too many guitars and not enough hands
Dec 2nd, 2012 04:38 PM   Edit   Profile   Print Topic   Search Topic

Fortunately like Leftymeister i had $500 to spend on a guitar (well i didn't but i did a couple of cash jobs that were quick and easy and paid pretty good) and what the hey its Xmas soon so if I didn't buy myself a present no one else was going too!

and unlike Leftymeister i'd had an idea of what i was going to get

always been on the hunt for an MIJ62 Tele in Candy Apple Red

and sitting here bored at work checked out Ishibashi and low and behold a used one turns up on their U Box page with gig bag for about 33000 Yen plus shipping :}

had a rough idea shipping was going to be about 12000 yen so emailed Ishibashi and checked avaibilty and if they'd ship ?

Ishibashi have a policy for international that it must be over 50,000 yen and this combined wouldn't make the minimum

but come back all sweat they'd ship it so its ordered and on the way

had a few nicks and dings but everything else is fine and they said the frets had about 80% life left more than enough

and what the hey if i dont like i could probably flog it off with zero loss

now comes the waiting game

I had a MIJ 62 Tele for about a month, then I lost my job and I had to sell it. That's one I wish I could get back.

Looking forward to your report and pics.

I had a CIJ '62 Tele which I really liked. However I sold it after acquiring a Custom Shop '62 Tele.

Huh? Am I missing something here - a misspelled word or something...?

Hey Rev not mispelled - Poorly written :0

heres the gist - hopes this reads better ;)
Ishibashi have a policy on international shipments that orders must total 50000 yen or more

guitar was 33,000 yen and then shipping on top as i guessed was 12000 yen ($150)

so sent an email off asking for a confirmation on the shipping cost and if it they included that in the 50000 Yen minimum purchase

they said yes and that they wouldn't worry about mimimum limit so i went ahead and ordered it

wouldn't have bothered me probably would have added a pedal or something to make the limit

now as long as its not on the slow boat should have it by friday or early next week

I had one, a sunburst, but I let it go. Played great. It's always been the guitar that got away.

Can't wait to see pics of your candy apple red Tele.
Hang onto it if it's a winner.
