"yeah, I never plyed one, but for that price on a semi hollow ith decent materials I was intrigued. I like big frets, so the reverend's call pretty much seals the deal for me too"

Well, on Ibanez's website, it says it has "medium" frets ... I suppose that's different than "medium JUMBO" frets...

...I dunno, I'm kinda gassin' for a semi-hollow again, and this one's probably one of the better choices - esp. versus the Epiphones...

"the Eastwood looks interesting"

Agreed. That Classic 6 looks like it gives you more for your money than either Epiphone or Ibanez.

I'm just wondering what that jazz style tailpiece does to the sustain versus a standard stoptail like the others? Any thoughts from someone with experience with this set-up?

...and how would a walnut body affect the tone? It could sound squirrely. Then again, I could be nuts.

Good one, LeftyMeister!

Is anything we've talked about on here actually walnut wood, or just walnut finishes?

That 1 5/8" nut is pretty narrow for me...

Yeah, but it's only 1/16" narrower than my other guitars.

I have several Warmoth necks that are 1 3/4" at th nut, and several others that are 1 11/16" ... those I can handle. I'd have to personally try the 1 5/8" to see...

The guitar arrived today without a case. The ad showed a case and two sales reps told me the case was included. There was no disclaimer in the ad that a case was not included.

I contacted them and a 'missing parts representative' will call me back. They had better ship me a case or the guitar is going back and MF will have lost a customer.

Wow..bummer. You know I have bought several top end Epiphones and none of them included case and or gig bags of any sorts.....always had to pay extra for either. Hope you can convince em to give you one.

The guitar is terrific. It sounds like a Les Paul is supposed to sound. The Probucker pups are identical to the Burstbucker Pros except they're made overseas. It's all the same materials and specs and they sound great.

The fit and finish is a-one. The setup is very good but a little high for my tastes on to low E. I'll adjust that. The fretwork is great.

Take the 'Epiphone' logo off the headstock and no one would know it isn't the real deal. It's a keeper if they honor their word on the case.

Glad you're getting the case - hate to see you send a nice guitar back because of that - and their cost to make you happy was probably $50 or so, including shipping. They did the right thing - good for them.

Congrats on a very good deal!

Well, they've agreed now with some consternation. Here's what happened...

1. I called them last Friday to say I have no case, even though the ad showed two pics of a case, and two sales reps told me it was included. Someone was supposed to call me back.

2. No one called so I called again today. I explained the story to the sales rep and she reviewed the file. She then apologized for the confusion and stated if a case was included, it would state as such in the ad. She offered to sell me a case at a discount. I asked to talk to her supervisor.

3. The supervisor listened to my story and agreed to ship me a MF-branded case. It wasn't an Epi case but it was okay with me. I asked for the item number of the case he planned to send.

4. After hanging up, I checked the case online and it was for a Strat or Tele. It would not fit an LP-style guitar. I called back.

5. I got them to send me an Epi case, which is a $90 value. So, I essentially got a brand new Epi Les Paul Custom Pro for $400.

Yeehaw!

Great it worked out Lefty sweet score

but that really erks me if you show a photo of the case then its a package deal unless they put a disclamer

that the case is not included

then they should send the case period

again glad it worked out

BTW, Mikey, the 1-5/8" nut is not bad at all because of the baseball bat neck. I love it.
