Well i've had it now for two days and only had maybe an hour bonding time with it haven't set it up how i like the actions a little low and of course i'm going to mod the wiring

i've got all day off tomorrow so i'll put it through its paces and get the amp cranked!!!! ;)

but it plays nice the neck is not as big as i remembered from the last one i played over 10 years ago. it weighs just around 8lb 2oz but doesn't feel heavy actually well balanced

riffed a few stones tunes out and had a go a chick'n pick'n ( even though i can't do that for crap)

the only gripe i can say is the pickguard is a little warped but thats minor and easy fixed

but i'll say this the butterscotch blonde sure looks sweet

i'll post a pick or two when i get a chance to take some

the air smelled like snakes

Glad it arrived safe....the reason I believe the pickguard is warped is that the American RI 52 has a plastic pickguard as opposed to my '95 CRJ 52 RI that has a real bakelite pickguard which in some cases Fender installed on some of the original 1952 Teles. I noticed the pickguard on my American 52 RI has the same issue....I believe I mentioned this in an earlier post months back....no matter as you say an easy fix. Let us know what mods you do to the circuits...there are some re-creations of the original wax sealed PIO capacitors that will let you get real close to the square cap design of the olden days( ebay Telecaster Capacitors) I have several of these caps but have yet to install them.....maybe one day soon. Have fun with your baby !!

hey fade,

the wiring will be to mainly put in lefty taper pots so i've got full volume and tone control sweep and adjust it to modern wiring

but i may look at a 5 way switch mod
