So, a post in the Misc./Non-Fender Forum got me thinking that we ought to wake up the Lefty Forum with a few posts about the lefty gear we've purchased (so far) in 2012.

For me it's been:

2012 Larrivee Bakersfield "Tele"
2009 Gibson SG (used)

The Bakersfield originally came with Seymour Duncan custom shop pickups in it, but (Matthew) Larrivee has started building Tele pickups, so I sent mine back for a set of their in-house pups - and they don't disappoint!

The SG came with EMG's in it - interesting tone, but not what I was looking for long-term; it now has a set of Larrivee humbuckers in it, and it's a very versatile, fun guitar!

I have some lefty gear I need to sell, but the economy is so bad, I'm trying to hold out until things get better. Definitely need to downsize, though.

Well were do i start

January Got a Gibson 60's Les Paul Tribute in gold top

June got a Fender EC Vibro Champ - That was faulty returned said they sorted the problem - nada still faulty :{

Got a replacement and guess what same issue even worse sent it back got my money back

And this month 52RI US Tele - I've been wanting one of these for a long time and found one at a reasonable price so pulled the trigger - wouldn't have got it if i didn't return the amp

oh and got some DIY pedal kits that i've had fun building

and like rev i'll be offloading a couple of things unless i build another room!!!

Well, I was just thinking of lefty stuff - guitars, basses ... but what the heck.

I've also bought an Ethos Overdrive Amp and a Dr. Z 212 cab - they sound incredible together!

I want to hear more about both the Excelsior and the SG with P-90s! (I've played the Excelsior, but not with my own guitar, and in a very noisy store - why don't guitar shops do something to deal with the 60 cycle hum in their wiring?!)

Reverend mikey, there's an entire thread dedicated to the Excelsior amp in the Fender:1985-current category. I love the combination of 13 watts into a 15" speaker with an open back cab.

LHW - Thanks - I've read through that thread with interest. I was just curious if there was anyone else around here who had another opinion that hadn't been expressed "over there."

Just sold a guitar today (Carvin DC150) - if the money shows up in my Paypal account (and I think it will; I've sold two other Carvin's to this guy).

I'm really tempted to get the Excelsior amp or a low-medium watt head, but I just don't NEED anything - except to get some bills paid!

I got a 2008 AM Std Tele in Blizzard Pearl from Jerry's. That one was used but not played. Blizzard Pearl is a really pretty color!

And at the Arlington show over the weekend the
Guitar Center Arlington TX Store had a booth with a 2012 70s tribute plain jane Gibson SG that looked like a refugee from "Lefty Land" (dusty but at least it was in tune). It was priced to sell and I got them down a few dollars more so while it's not as flashy as an SG Standard I cured my SG lust and saved several hundred dollars. It's got mini humbuckers which sound fine.

Wally,

You need to update your profile - included pics of both of those!

...I also bought a new Warmoth neck (maple, vintage tint gloss) for one of my Warmoth Strats - really really like this one. And also traded out the EMG pickups that were in my SG, and bought a set of pickups from Larrivee. They're excellent; I'm wanting some more for some of my other 'bucker guitars.

LeftRightOut.....I was not competing for most monies out of pocket by no means. I have sold quite a few of my collection over the past few years....mostly mfg. in Japan, Korea, and a few from Chinese factories. I have decided to replace all of those with American manufactured guitars. The non US guitars just don't hold value it seems and for sure most American stuff play and sound better to me anyway.
The amps are a different story...I still have way to many amps , of which I modify most, but amps to me are like nitrous to a street racer>>>>> the more you have the better it is.
Anyway I will be slowing down on the buying for a-while.....and the Kurt Cobain Mustang mentioned in another post is of Japanese Mfg. and I am not going there again.
Keep playing guys!!! "we grow old way to soon" and I refuse to let time catch me. :->

Not for me - got my son a new Warmoth maple neck for his Tele. He plays righty, but this lefty dad will be cutting the nut and setting it up for him. Beautiful quartersawn neck with flame in it, finished in vintage satin...sooo smoooooooth.
