... a Duo Sonic, of some stripe. It seems like there are some similarities, but there are a lot of choices.

I liked the shorter scale, and the humbucker in the bridge.

But I don't know much about Duo-Sonics. When I look at the 'bay, or where ever, I see many different variants.

Does anyone have any preferences?

Is there somewhere that has a bunch of info about them?

Short scale and bucker, look at the fixed bridge Squier Jaguar HH things.

There's a local guy who's hawking a 1998 MIM DuoSonic with replaced pickups (humbucker in the bridge, with a Seymour Duncan "Little -59" humbucker that fits in a single-coil slot in the neck) for $225.

It's Oly-white in color with a maple neck, and is otherwise not very beat up.

I might just have to have a talk with him

Check out the Pawnshop '51. Better than a Squire for sure!

The Duo-sonic it depends on the scale length - some are 22.5". Those I cannot stand.
