I got my knuckles wrapped by many teachers when I was young. I was constantly tapping on everything throughout school. I loved drums, I could and still can beat out rhythms. For some reason, I picked up the guitar and wanted to try it. I spent so much time trying to play it that I forgot about the drums. I would have been an awesome drummer. (Our drummer often says that.) :-) Keep the beat folks and remember, you guys and the bass players make the beat. Thanks for being a drummer. :-)

I consider myself a fairly decent virtual drummer. I can and do construct drum tracks from scratch and have a fairly good understanding of the structures. Physically, I'm a tripping mess. I'm a confused lefty (play guitar righty), meaning when I sit down at a kit the right foot feels correct on the kick, but left hand goes for the cymbals and right hand for the snare. If I could get the hi hats on the right side but have a pedal on the left I'd be alright.

"left hand goes for the cymbals and right hand for the snare" --- for a righthanded drummer that is called... playing open handed.

Wanna watch someone who really has open handed down... youtube some Simon Phillips.

I'm a righty on guitar but a lefty on drums.
