I spoke with Vince the owner at the Universal Rehearsal Greenville/Markville location just now. They have rooms available Sat night -- in 3 hour blocks or 5 hour blocks, any open/close time between 6PM and midnight. Their published prices for the rooms available are $65/3hrs and $85/5hrs.
972) 644-7529

The Arlington studios book their own times. I called and got an answering machine so I don't know if they have times available. Their published prices are $75/3hr, $95/5hr.
817) 649-0600

Both also have higher priced bigger rooms but they're a lot bigger than we need. The smaller rooms can easily accomodate a couple drum sets, a couple bass rigs, percussion, keys, and five guitarists at a time, plus several singers through the provided PA. There are a dozen or so chairs and a couch in the room I used.

The room acoustics are very good, much better than some of the clubs we've played at. Players can hear the rest of the band and the singers clearly even at high volumes, and those volumes don't get too unpleasant. And they don't care how loud people play.

Tomorrow I'll call the arlington place since its in the area of the convention and see if/what they have, if nothing I'll call Greenville one, start at 6? 6 to 11 should be allright. Any other suggestions let me know!

Ok Y'all!!! Its on!! 6 pm Saturday in Arlington, near 6 flags, 2909 East Avenue E, Arlington, 76011. They will have PA there, one of their large rooms. Cost $90, he didn't charge me over the phone, said I can pay at 6 when I get there. I don't have any idea how many of us are showing up, but if everyone can kick a few bucks that'd be cool!! Their website is www.universalrehearsal.com/arlington.html.

Maybe we can start a head count??

I'm kinda on the fence.
I'd like to, but I also want to hit the show
and there is only so much energy left in an old guy after a 46 hour work week and tyring to keep up with a 2 1/2 year old grand daughter.

Now, if I could borrow some of her seemingly unlimited energy...

Im hitting the show starting at 3, My son Shawn will be there, his drummer friend Trevor, and another friend John has some bass skills, but not like yours ;) so - guaranteed we have a "full band" It would really be great to have you for a while!

Hope it went well. After the show, I realized that whatever sinus drainage/headache/sore throat I've been having was back, so I did a lot of nothing.

I just noticed this thread. It was a cool guitar show. I've been to the Dallas show before but this was my first time at the Arlington show. I almost missed the second room that they had....and I'm glad I found it because a custom shop 1956 "Mary Kaye" strat came home with me. We're going to get to know each other a lot better. :)

I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed your jam afterwards.

Thanks to all who were able to make it to jam last night!! I had a great time and look forward to April already! We could've used a little bottom end help last night but I faked my way through what I could on my old Epiphone bass. Also thanks to Trevor who hauled his drum kit in his little car from Frisco (about an hours drive) to help out!
