I picked up a '67 12 String last year from GC and I'm trying to get a reasonable appraisal. GC tells me to use the slip but the underwriters won't hear of it - they probably assume its less than what I paid. Which is most likely the case. Has anyone had to get vintage stuff appraised and whats the best way to go about it.

This guitar is really in great condition - single owner and I have the original "manual", cord, strap, and case with it.

you'll be hard pressed to get lots more than $2k5, IMHO, in todays market. The XII just doesn't have the profile of a Strat or Tele.

That's for sunburst. Custom colours are more.

my 2c only, based on observation of sale prices at a vintage items auction house over the last two years.

I can research further and get a much more accurate idea but it's a ballpark to think about.

The local Guitar Center (Syracuse NY) has two of them. The sunburst is $1199 the red is $1399. Take a look at the GC website.
