Hi All,
Our church bass player is going to college this fall and we don't have a replacement. We do have a Korg M1. Can this be used to play bass tracks and even pads?

I assume you would use a laptop and run it that way.
I have no clue how keyboards work. I play guitar.

Yes, the M1 can definitely be used as a faux bass. It has a decent onboard sequencer that can be programmed with bass parts, or you can control it with external MIDI sequencing software on a laptop.

I’ve never owned an M1, so I don’t know how good its bass patches are. However, I do own its successor — the X2 — which has several good acoustic and electric bass patches.
