FDP Forum / Fender Custom Shop / My CS Relic 1960s Strat has a 3-way switch. Is that standard?

Installed is the 3 way.

I'm trying the guitar on spec, so I don't want to open the case candy and look for a 5 way.

But if it's totally stock, shouldn't it have come with the 5 way installed and the 3 way in the case? The guitar was built by the CS in 2003. Not a master built or special order.

Cool. Thanks a ton, wns. I'm jigging around the case candy (again guitar is on spec so I don't want to open it just yet).

It's CS case candy but I don't see the switch or instructions. Is it kinda hidden and tucked away a bit in the package somewhere?

Mine came with a 3-way installed, but did not come with a 5-way or instructions included in the case candy.

Cool. I'm guessing that's the manilla envelope that also contains the trem springs.

Guys, is it typically in the yellow manilla envelope that contains the extra springs? Is that why I am not seeing it in the sealed case candy?

I don't want to unseal the case candy unless I know it's there. Thanks a mil.

Feel through the envelope. If there's a switch in there--you'll know.

I have a CS 60 Strat and it came (2nd hand) with the 3-way, and included was the 5-way with the case candy. I installed the 5-way.

This tonestick deluxe.

If it's the right candy you should also have a relic'ed bridge cover and trem arm.

I always prefer the 3 Way switch to 5 way. Never use #2 or #4, so they just get in the way.
