This is a 6 stage Tube preamp (3 12AX7's) running at 300vdc as opposed to the typical "Starved Plate" low voltage (aprox 100vdc) many hybrid amps are running which just gets the tube to turn on and operate but not to it's fullest. It is a Class D amp that allows for high efficiency in a small package. I has a really nice cast aluminum case (no plastic here except knobs and Jacks. It weighs in a 6 lbs and can fit in the largest pocket of my SKB Bass Gigbag if needed. At first it had a fair amount of hum but that turned out to be a multiple outlet extension cord with poor grounding. Very quiet now after changing the multi outlet. All controls are interactive in that adjusting one effects the others but wasn't hard to dial in my tone with a slight bit of patience and once dialed in I had a big kickbutt tone that put a smile on my face and others in the band. In short, I love this amp and having 600 watts RMS @ 4 ohms / 375 watts RMS at 8ohms works medium venues with no problems whatsoever.
For large venues I recommend the STL900 (900 watts RMS at 4 ohms and 500 watts at 8ohms.
Even though it is only 6 lbs I have no problems with it moving around when pluging something into it. There are Head phone and Tuner out Jacks on the back side. It has two Speakon Jacks but no 1/4" Jacks. The Headphones operate with or without the speakers connected. I bought this and gigbags to lighten the load on my back. Very happy so far.

Thought I would add this after owning and playing out at medium size venues and even outside once. With the right cab it can get pretty darn loud (i.e. 2x15 Acoustic cab ( 4ohm) from the 70's (Let's put it this way, no problem kicking the walls). Even my 2 GK 112-2's (4 ohms total)get quite loud in the same settings.

I replaced the 12" GK NEO's each of my two GK 112-1 cabs with Eminence KappaLite 3012HO's. These are killer sounding in this cab! Bigger everything..no rattles. Played outside with it and my Genz Benz 600STL and it stood their and belted it out. Got compliments on the sound of my rig even after the initial "what's in there, 12's (with shake of the head and a look of this won't cut it). Shocked us all!
