Surprised theres not more of a buzz on here about these..I cant post pics as I'm not a contributing member, I just hope the pics I found are not fakes.
Given the quality and playability of the recent classic vibes and vintage modified lines, this is quite exciting and it seems Fender takes note of feedback such as this forum, even if it takes them several years to catch up.
At last! Jags, Jazzmasters and mustangs that we mere mortals can afford to own, J Mastics Jazzmaster notwithstanding.
Only question is which one and what colour..if money was no object I'd buy all of them in every colour, but my brain says I'm a tele man and none of these would serve me as a main gigging guitar for putting through the motions and hitting hard..of the three I'd say the Jazzmaster is probably the most practical but the Mustang and Jag possibly more fun given that wonderful 'both pups on' Jag tone and those Mustang switching options.
Now can we have a Duosonic II please; basically a hardtail Mustang - perfect!

Just lock the Mustang trem down. Problem solved, no need for another guitar.
The buzz isn't there because the guitars aren't quite catalogued yet - doubt they're a hoax when there's been cheap Squier Mustangs in Japan for a while now.
That said, the concern I have is what corners get cut at the alleged MSRP vs the Mascis Jazzmaster - at almost a hundred bucks US lower, there's going to be something different and I'm afraid the magic that's in the Mascis is going to be lost in the cost cutting.
Also for once and it makes me cringe, they're ostensibly sourced from Indonesia rather than China, and I haven't liked the MII necks at all.
Glad I got a Mascis with the slightly oversized neck when I could - I can't see them keeping it in the lineup with the cheaper stuff coming out.
I hope I'm wrong on all this and I can justify a second Mustang to go with my MIJ Fender and a surf green Jaguar.

My first Fender guitar was a red Duo-Sonic II.
Looking forward to holding a Squier Mustang.

You're going to be the king of cheap offsets soon, Cyclones and Mustangs....

If the Mustang plays as sweetly as the CV Duo Sonic I tried, it will be very hard to resist indeed.
I just wish they had the Mustang in Oly White and Surf Green like the Jag.

Hmmmm, Jag or Mustang? I had a strat once which I accidentally wired 'wrong'; I got a very thin, scratchy 'out of phase' tone (nothing like the usual strat 2 and 4 tones) which I think was like one of the mustang settings - loved it, a lot of fun. Also I've never played a Mustang but suspect the bridge/trem could be more stable and less troublesome than that on the Jag..
Ah but that lovely clicky/plunky twang of the Jag in the middle position.
White or blue Jag I think..but the tortoise shell pickguard would have to go, I'd like an 'all white' Jag (See the Johnny Marr Fender Jag)
Tough decision!

I have all the offsets already, I can afford to buy by color.
Surf Green Jag is more important than boring color Mustang. ;0

I'm waiting to see a Mascis Squier Jazzmaster vs regular Squier Jazzmaster shootout.
That hundred bucks in retail price amounts to a lot I'd think in parts and finishing.
I could be wrong, and well, not that I'd turn down another JM.

'Mascis may be taking a piece of that $100.'
Interesting point. The fact that the guitar is a 'signature' certainly adds something to it's ability to command a higher price, even if parts, etc. are essentially the same. (Gold anodized pg notwithstanding.)

Even if it's a $20 cut per, it still leaves quite a bit.
As I said, will be curious to compare.
Wish there was a surf green Jazz so I could just compare them A/B style, will have to settle for 'Chrome on the Jag = cost of the PG on the JM" argument for comparison.
