"an excessive indulgence or something" -

You are correct, but being addicted to guitars, amps and pedals isn't a bad thing to be addicted to, assuming you can afford the habit.

Current herd:

Teisco Crown 10
Fender Rumble 15 bass practice amp
Epi Valve Junior combo vers 3
Behringer AC112 (recently discovered this makes a decent acoustic amp, nice clean tone)
Peavey Valveking VK112
Kuston 100 watt 4 ch PA/mix
QSC 1000 watt PA amp

Nope, not enough. I still want a nice Fender combo.

If I count on my fingers and toes, I'll run out long before I get halfway through the mess of amps I have.

As long as one has the convenient storage space....none. Theoretically I do not need another, but I still don't have a '59 Bassman Reissue, a Dual Professional (Custom Shop Series), or a Supersonic, or that Marshall 1974x, other than that....heh...

59 Tremolux
59 Deluxe
57 Twin RI
65 Super Reverb RI
65 Twin Reverb RI
59 Bassman Ltd. RI
Vox AC 30 HW
65 Amp London 18w
Swart AST
Pro Jr.
49 Rickenbacker
65 Silvertone 1485

I cycle thru them.I like to rediscover some after not using some for a while. They're all different and have unique sounds thru diffferent guitars.

I need a Marshall too.

Blues Jnr.
Champion 600.
'57 Deluxe Reissue.
'65 Princeton Reverb Reissue Amp.
Marshall 50W Vintage Modern 2x12" combo
Super Sonic 60 Watt 1X12” combo.

The number is really bordering on to many. I could really do with just the SS and VM due to the versatility of each (contrary to most general expectations, they are both great "bedroom" amps because they sound great at low volume).

The RIs are awesome for classic Fender and will stay. The C600 takes up no room.

If I was forced to sell it would be the BJ although I personally have no gripes with it whatsoever.

I would like a 2X10” version of the VM though. If that were to happen, the BJ would definitely be given the flick.

I have 5 2 x 12's and a couple single cone things. On occasion I try to "sell" a few but seem to over value them, heh heh.
Love the twins!!

What is wrong with surrounding yourself with things you love? As long as the car runs, bills are paid, heat and lights are on, the kids don't do without, and the wife's happy (or husband if that be the case)...who cares how many amps you have.

My stepson told his mom...my wife to not let me get rid of ANYTHING. He gets it all when I die.

That's funny....my 16 yr old daughter says the same thing every time I talk about selling something. Somehow that makes me feel good.

If I was a much better player than I am, my amp collection would be just the right size.

I've got about ten and the sad thing is, I'm not playing in an electric band right now. That's soon to change. Tha amp I use the most is a Mesa Boogie Studio .22+ with an Altec 417-8H speaker.

As long as the total wattage is under 20,000 you're ok. :-)
