Junk, trinket, token, or rare coin? Found 2 of these going through my mom's house before the estate sale. Being that her life travels took her from Poland to Siberia to Persia to Lebanon to England before coming to the US I thought it might be worth checking out. Sorry, only crappy cell phone pics.

"copy" is the first thing I noticed when I saw your first picture.

Inspecting the coin all I saw was "COP" and didn't see the Y until I cropped and enlarged.

Since there appears to be a mammal on each side of the coin - a horse and an elephant? - this site might be helpful.

That's the kind of coin sold in a museum gift shop. The one you have there is Greek. Did your mom ever visit Athens or the Greek Islands? Or perhaps a traveling exhibit of Greek artifacts at a stateside museum?

Side 2 is Gellas, the Bull-headed River-God. Your picture has the face facing straight down. The other side is a charioteer being pulled by a horse. It's a copy of a Greek coin.
Spent considerable time in Crete, and I saw lots of this type of coin for sale - all marked COPY.
