Works this way: #1: She lifts lid, then replaces lid. He lifts the pair together, then replaces pair. #2: Both lift lid, and replace lid when done - even stevens.

My wife's grandma had a solution to men leaving the lid up...she had a big frilly toilet lid cover that she'd crocheted, and sewed a big fat rose to the middle of the thing. I wouldn't stay up on it's own and required an innovative approach. I often regret not just hosing that sucker down.
