I don't get the pickup change. This seems completely weird to me. First of all, isn't the AS supposed to be the Modern Fender Strat? Doesn't Fender marketing, and the public thinking about Strats, depend on keeping a distinction between Modern and Vintage Strats, with the AS and AD on one side, and the AV on the other, with multiple variations in between? Doesn't having vintage pups on the AS totally violate that model? And second, aren't the current AS pickups well-loved as a standard of modern Strat tone, and one of the reasons AS Strats have been so popular? Why would they suddenly decide to put a vintage pup in the modern standard Strat? Please explain.

"...if someone has, what do you think of it?"
I have one I ordered from the States. Awesome guitar. Jumbo frets require a really light touch, so it is a fast, slinky player. I have no complaints about fit and finish. The Grease Bucket circuit is effective and handy too.
Mine is Candy Apple Red.
Purple Valley- the vintage pups are for marketing purposes. There is a general perception that vintage is better (not for everyone though), so adding vintage pups will probably make it a hit. Hell, if I had the room and wasn’t already overwhelmed by guitars, I’d buy one :-)
There is nothing wrong with the OEM pups fitted to the model before the current version. They still have a vintage tone, but another variety of it.

@Modal, Guess you're right. But it seems like a fundamental change in the current marketing model, i.e., keeping a distinction between Modern and Vintage. It would seem they have essentially given that up, and conceded to an idea that Vintage = Strat. Interesting.

I have read that a lot of the new American strats are made of 3 and 4 piece bodies? Why do that?

As I mentioned subsequent to your comment in the other thread...'cause they always have (at least 3-piece bodies).

And because it's normal to have multi piece bodies.
