I have been wanting a rosewood board; too bad Standards aren't stock w/them.

I have Never put a different neck on a gtr, so not sure what to avoid or be aware of...pitfalls, etc.
How compatible are necks with the bodies?
I imagine there isn't much of a problem, since I never see/hear of anyone having issues. I would, for trust sake, pick up a Fender-made neck, but what other brands do people here suggest? Warmoth, WD? etc.

Love my 02 MIM tele. Was a Strat man prior, but since my first tele purchase last April, I picked up a used 2010 MIM the other day. I really think you can NOT have just one Tele.....they are contagious.

Neck swapping is not a big deal.

Decent ones run from sub-$100 eBay Mighty Mites to USACG, Warmoth and others that can be made from exotic woods have stainless frets and run $300-400 on up.

Another thought is a neck off a parted-out Fender-made instrument. eBay has those.

I'm lucky that I found my 09 MIM--chunkier neck profile than most Standards.

It is a basic bolt on swap. The only work involved is possible shimming to set correct string height and a setup.

If you buy an Fender American neck, get the USA neck plate. Your body can be easily modified to neck Shim/MicroTilt with a ten cent blind nut, available at any hardware store. Take a look at an American body on Ebay and you will see how rediculously simple the MicroTilt feature is.

if you like the MIM neck (I love mine), would you consider putting a MIM strat neck on your tele? it would fit (unlike a tele neck on a strat). Thats what I would do - Ebay. Depending on how much you want to spend you could look for a MIA tele neck or a highway one (did they have a rosewood tele option?)

WD sell very good necks but then youre talking about drilling neck holes, installing and filing a nut, tuners etc etc
