While I LOVE the guitar, I'm not a big fan of the two colors offered. Wish they would give more options there...

I also like the feel, the sound, the neck, the case but haven't decided on the switching yet.

Slight hum due to some grounding problem but haven't had time to fix yet.

Just bought a 2014 new Johnny Marr Jaguar. I like all of the changes that Mr. Marr made on this signature model. The sound to me is better than any Jaguar I've played in the past including my first guitar, a new 1962 Jaguar. I would use this guitar on a gig if I was still playing out. The case is high quality and I even like the vintage strap. If anyone else is considering purchasing a Jaguar I strongly recommend checking this one out. All of the 1960's surf tones are there plus some new ones. The Bare Knuckle Pickups sound very musical and even unpluged the guitar sounds good. Maybe the pickups being wound in the same direction does make a difference.

I see that Beach Boy Al Jardine alternates his '62 Strat with a Johnny Marr Jag.

I LOVE the tremolo on the Johnny Marr! I'm still thinking I need one of these.

6L6,
I love this guitar! It is my new #1. Short scale is great and I can bend strings without fretting out. The pickups are the best I've heard on a Jag. This guitar is as gigable as my 03 AMSE Strat and 52ri Tele.

Cool Surfdog!

I wish I was in love with the two colors offered, but I'm not. Might buy a used one and repaint the body because I really love these guitars.

how does one go about modifying a tremolo system to get it like the j.m. jag? is there just a plastic sleeve being used and if so where can i find one?

I get it on the colors. Howerver, I had a white 62 Jag when they first came out and I have considered getting the red tortoise shell pickguard to go with the white. The white on white has grown on me since then. My small hands like the 24" scale. A repaint would have everyone looking. What colors are you considering?

6l6, Both would be great and turn heads. I can clearly imagine the pink against the chrome, nice.

Since my reach is getting shorter every day owing to arthritis, one of these things might just get me back into the Jag world.

I've seen the video run-throughs, but can anybody characterize the sound with these PUPs, with or without OD, like similar to ... whatever, or are they a distinct and different thing unto themselves?

It sounds like a Jaguar but smoother. The Bare Knuckle pickups are an upgrade from the Fender stock pickups. The Jaguar is more percussive than my Stratocaster. My first guitar was a Jaguar in 1962, going by memory, I feel that the Johnny Marr is more versatile, and sounds and plays better than my original. Clean sounds outstanding however I haven't used a lot of overdrive since my purchase. I would use it for a gig. Shorter neck is easier for small hands, however, I don't have problems switching back and forth from my Telecaster or Stratocaster. Mr. Marr's upgrade changes have made this guitar as usable and enjoyable as my other guitars. I am really having fun with my new Jaguar. Hope this helps.

Johnny Marr was on the CBS Saturday morning show today. He played a Sherwood green Jaguar. It looked great!

I REALLY liker the look of the Oly white one. Don't care at all for the other two colors. I've heard that the JM Jags paint is very thin and that they chip and/or flake with the slightest bump. Any of you that own one witnessed this problem?

Thanks for the input surfdog - how long have you had yours, what color and are you happy with it. I assume by your name and profile info that you play surf stuff (as do I). Is the Marr Jag a good candidate for surf?

Bought the guitar last May. It's white. This guitar is the best Jaguar I have ever heard or played. In fact better than the 1962 Jaguar I had in the 60's. The modifications that Johnny Marr made makes this guitar more useable not only for surf but other styles of music. The Bare Knuckle pickups just sound good. This guitar nails the surf sound. I have a 52RI tele, 2003 Am Series Strat, and the Jag hanging on my music room wall. Most of the time I reach for the Jaguar.

I picked surfdog because: A dog on a surfboard appears to be having the most fun and experiencing the greatest joy, that's what I want too. I still surf at 66. I played in surf bands in the early 1960's.

No problem with the Metallic KO.

Some people are reporting the paint problems with the recent Sherwood green model
