Hey everyone,
Went to go pick up my mccarty after a few months of not playing it. When I choose the bridge pickup, it is very muted and muffled, and crackles. It also will not pickup the string vibration unless I hit the strings with a certain amount of force...
Any thoughts on how I can correct this?

I had not thought about that... is that something I can clean (if so, how) or replace? Wouldn't it effect the other pickup?

not if the dirt or corrossion was only on the bridge pickup contacts within the switch. Just roll the switch back and forth about ten times and see if it makes any difference.

Peegoo, don't think its the jack because the neck p/u sounds just fine.
wrnchbndr, I'll try your suggestion, thanks.
