Relics are always interesting to look at, but I would prefer the real thing myself

that looks more like an authentic looking "old" guitar compared to some. The only thing missing is initials carved into it or those stick-on letterbox letters.

I have to agree with your dislike in most cases, but I've seen a couple here and there that looked pretty good. Well, as far as looks goes. One was a fiesta red strat at The Music Zoo they had a couple of years ago. The builder had it faded to an orange that looked fantastic.
Others look like they've been dragged behind a car.

Wow, that just looks nasty. Can't imagine paying Custom Shop prices for it!
I also don't usually care for relics, but have seen some that looked pretty nice. In general I'm OK with a faded finish look but not so much with peeling paint.
