and bought a Gibson Advanced Jumbo. Sometimes I love and sometimes I hate my Lowden, and I think the neck is shaped wrong and makes my fingers hurt.
Got fed up and ordered one...Doesn't ship till Thursday, though.
I am dying waiting to get it.

I'd love to spend an afternoon A/B-ing the Advanced Jumbo and J-45.
What factors drove you to the AJ over other options?

Dadical, Partly it was looks and partly it was that I had a chance to play the AJ more. Not sure why, but I think the Guitar Center near me had AJs and not J-45s for me to play.
The last two times I had time to spend in GC looking at acoustics, I played everything in there I thought I might like, and the AJ was the best playing and sounding guitar in there...even the one with the badly repaired headstock.
Sorry I can't really give you my thoughts on how they compare as I didn't really compare them that well.
What I liked best about the AJ was the full, round bass and kind of resinous top end, and the neck is full and the most comfortable I could find. I also just love the looks.

Great lookin guitar. I particularly like the striped tort pickguard. Resembles early Martins, etc. Nice score!
