Hey Guys, I want a classic Fuzz ( think early Stones) fuzz. Tons of choices. Thoughts?

If you can find a used DOD Classic Fuzz, it nails the "Satisfaction" tone.

I'm having a VFE Fuzz Duo made. Selectable germanium and silicon fuzz, or combinations thereof. I haven't heard it, but have purchased it based on my experience with the VFE Alpha Dog. I have asked for good examples of old school fuzz 'ala Hendrix and other examples from around that era, plus nice smoothing when pushed. I'm looking forward to receiving it.
Peter at VFE has some awesome effects pedal philosophies, and is awesome to do business with, even from half way around the world.

For Satisfaction fuzz tones you need a Maestro FZ-1A or a clone of one. The Zvex Fuzz Factory can get this tone and a whole lot more.

"Maestro FZ-1A"
Yup. Nails it for just one song. I just sold one a year ago and got stupid money for it. Other than that, it is a awful sounding pedal.

The FZ-1A was the pedal in that song. We used to use a cheap EH Muff thingy that plugged into your guitar. It worked well enough. One knob.

I've always thought that the fuzz in "Satisfaction" was a VOX Tone Bender.

Not according to all the reports I've read.
One report...
"In May 1965 Keith Richards used a Gibson Maestro Fuzz-Tone to record "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction".[21] The song's success greatly boosted sales of the device, and all available stock sold out by the end of 1965"
From Guitar Player...
"The “Satisfaction” riff was recorded through an early Maestro Fuzz-Tone, and it is archetypal of the fuzz sound"
Yet another...
"Few would argue that "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" is one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever. By association, this makes the Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz-Tone one of the greatest fuzz pedals ever. Keith Richards used this wonderfully quirky little fuzz in 1965 to sculpt the riff that put a guitar in many a youngster's hands and struck fear in many a parent's hearts. At 45 years old, there are not so many around, so if you stumble across one in your travels, grab it."

my dad used to use a shaftsbury duo fuzz back in the day which i believe is quite close to the original tone.
Wattson now make a modern day clone
I still have the original and I believe they are worth quite a bit as well!
