I front a rockabilly group, playing guitar and vocals. My wife plays drums, and we fond that a full drum set, didn't give us the sound that we were looking for.

She is currently playing a snare, MIC'ed with a pad, or brushes and no pad. Cymbal and a rhytm foot, in place of a kick drum.

The rhytm foot is a 4" squre block, with a pickup, inside of it. It does work better than a bass drum for us, but I would like something a little better.

Would adding a digital kick drum be possible, without an entire set?

Any other idea's for us?

A digital kick could certainly be added without purchasing an entire electronic kit. For example, you could pair an Alesis DMPad Kick Pad with an Alesis DM5 Drum Module. You could also use another MIDI-based kick trigger with a device like the Alesis Trigger|iO to play laptop-based samples.

Lots of possibilities — depending on your budget.

Type "suitcase drumkit" into google... that might do it for you.

Certainly attention grabbing... and an easy carry in/out.

"Type "suitcase drumkit" into google... that might do it for you."

Wow.

That might be perfect as a small, quiet drum kit in my basement. And cheap, too!

Thanks for the suggestion, Lazmo.
