So far out-o-da-loop

I can't even find the rope!
Nov 3rd, 2011 10:02 AM   Edit   Profile   Print Topic   Search Topic

On the way back from the dentist this morning I stopped by a pawn shop and found a 70s red 5 piece Ludwig Vistalite kit for $189. I talked them down to $150 and left with it. It was so dark in the pawn shop that I didn't realize they were vistalites until I got them outside. I was originally planning to sell them to a student for Christmas money but now I have to keep them and sell something else.

Yeah, you can hate me now...it's ok.

The red ones are very dark in low light. So dark that they didn't sell well and the color was discontinued early in production.

No cracks and they sound great. I loaned them out to the music school where I teach to use for their "school of rock" performance yesterday and got to sit out front and listen to them for 3 hours. I was pleasantly surprise at how good they sounded.

Maple playing jazz cats may disagree.

e,

I play a Tempus fibreglass kit... and maple playing drummers are surprised at how woody my f/g kit sounds.
