I would appreciate anyone's input on my 56 Relic. The body pocket has a "J" stamped on it plus whats left of the Custom Shop Chevron logo plus the neck has all kinds of markings. Any input would be appreciated.

Interesting Strat. The pressed in stuff suggests it's a Cunetto, but the stamped on "Custom Shop" logo on the headstock suggests it from the then-new Fender Custom Shop relic group. That was the transition period from Cunetto back to Fender, so it may be some kind of hybrid. Nice Strat!

All of the Time Machine CS's I've seen have Relic pressed into them (post Cunetto). I think the Cunetto's were all done as matched sets, so that the wear would look consistent to a certain type of player.

- It was done in house.
- The Cunetto stuff was never matched up once we got it from him.

The two Cunettos I used to have had the Custom Shop logo presed into the peghead, and a three digit number into the bodies. They also had something like a six digit number pressed into the neck pickup cavities. I'll see if I can scrounge up a few photos.

I don't exactly think that all Cunetto's have the logo pressed into the rear of the headstock; especially towards the end of their run.
