This section needs some action so I though I'd bump it up. This is a nice 19" crash-ride I scored with the red sparkle Super Classic I bought a few months ago.

As you can see from the image it has very nice old world hammering all the way through

Very nice.

Out of curiosity, how did you date it to the ‘50s? As the owner of several Zildjians, I should know the answer to this. I suspect it has something to do with the style of the inscription above "AVEDIS." Did I win? (;oD

Yep they have had different stamps over the years. This particular cymbal would be considered a large 50's era stamp. The hammering and lathing is also something to consider when dating a vintage Zildjian, though I had online help on figuring out this cymbal

Many thanks for that link. One of my prized Zildjians is a nice 20" ride that I bought used many years ago, and I’ve always been curious about its era of manufacture. It has no markings other than the stamp, so at least now I have something to go on.

I finally bought a cheap digital postal scale online. This baby weighs in a 1635 grams which would be considered light for a 19" crash.
