Wander into the Music Zoo one too many times, on the wrong day, and things like this are bound to happen.
Hope it's worth the upcoming nights on the couch!

They're a great store. Back in the day I ordered two masterbuilt strats from them... a John English Master Design (and masterbuilt by him) and a John Cruz Mary Kaye Tribute that I still have and play (gigged with her just last night actually).
Anyway, like a said, great store.

I'd like to have a Zoo Git, but the wife can't see it as I don't play out. Or a Rory Gallagher Strat. I am happy with what I have built out of Am Stds tho.....

I'd spend a year in a tent in the back yard for that guitar! Congratulations.

Nice bite. BTW, if you bought a new couch, all would be forgiven. ;^)

Ok it's here. After the first night on the couch here are some observations:
1. Surprised that Dakota Red looks nothing like the photos in the link above. It really looks closer to the Strat in the link below. Guess that shows my ignorance. Going to have to see if it grows on me.
2. Guitar is really light from a weight standpoint.
3. Rings nicely and it's "lively".
4. 60's pups are very nice. In between tones in 2 and 4 are excellent. Middle pup sounds great. Miss having the tone control on the bridge though (a mod I do on all my Strats).
5. Tremolo needs adjusted (too high at pitch) and all contact points need lubed (heck that's part of the fun).
6. Trem arm needs bent down (don't they all?) to suit my taste. Can't have them pointing skyward.
7. Closet Classic finish is just enough "aging/light relicing" to take your mind off worrying about that first ding.
8. Neck feels great. Shape, fretwork, 9.5 radius and MJ frets. Nice satin feel to the back.
9. Really tight fit in the case. Have to sequeeze it in there.
10. Leather couch is sticky on a hot summer night.

Should have looked here, huh? Research would have made it quite clear that the photos from the Zoo were lying!

Beautiful guitar. Get a sheet from the linen closet and place over leather cushions. Settle in for the long haul. (:

Apparently you can get 'em. This guitar has a 5/13/11 certificate. Maybe it depends on what the "retailer" orders and it's a build to order?
Check out the current Music Zoo inventory and you will find several.

Very nice play it with passion. Maybe I should go there I could use a couple of weeks anywhere else except in bed with the beast. Since the Stroke, I am viewed as not worth much, but have some great gear.

Nice guitar! Can you tell me about the neck?
Description says it's a mid 60s C neck but from the dimensions it looks like an early 60s C (see attached chart). Does it feel very shallow (sort of like a flat back) around the 1st fret or does it have a bit more "meat" to it?
