I could tell a miserable flop of a joke and yet he would look at me and happily wag his tale, as if to say "Mike ... you must be so funny ! And it makes me so happy." And if I add the words, "walk" or "treat" to the punch line, I will immediately get a rapturous standing ovation of eager, overwhelming joy !

I had jury rigged a non-compatible focal reducer to get the telescope's focal length below f/10 otherwise it wouldn't allow me to frame the entire solar disk. Unfortunately that resulted in a curved focal plane so I was unable to have everything in focus. A made-for-my-telescope focal reducer is due to arrive tomorrow. With a checkout and practice I hope to get some good photos of the Transit of Venus across the Sun's face on June 5th. If I screw that up I only have to wait 100+ years for the next occurrence. :-O P.S. You FDP photo guys really do some great photos and are an inspiration. Ain't FDP grand?

Here's an update photo with a proper focal reducer. Not too many sunspots there. Hopefully, I can get good shots of the upcoming Transit of Venus. Solar Disk
