FDP Forum / Non-Fender Gear Reviews / Fulltone OCD Pedal

Des Moines IA USA

I've heard great reviews and I've seen demo's on YouTube. I bought one. I find the overdrive to be extremely tube-like. You can get conventional sounding distortion, but my favorite is to put the overdrive on the edge where the notes scream with great dynamics. Chords are pure here. I was at first concerned when the pedals on YouTube said,"Hand made in California". The one I bought had no such words below the word "Fulltone". Must have switched to a foreign country for production. NO! They are still US made in California. I think the pedal is a real keeper!

I love it for its transparency... it doesn't change the EQ of your guitar, just adds a nice touch- sensitive distortion. I primarily use it to simulate breakup in my DRRI at low volumes. Best of all - made in the USA and built like a tank!

I got a very early V1. #003x
I was on the waiting list and all with all the hype

I can say from day one this is my one set it and forget pedeal. I EQ it straight up 12 OC LP mode and its never been chnaged or fudged with.

Anyone want to make comparisons to the Full Drive 2, which is what I have (mine's about 5-6 years old, gets used a lot)?

Is the OCD more transparent? I find the FD2 tends to remove some bass when engaged...

I have one, powered originally by a Onespot.

It was nice, but wondered if there was better.
Then I sprang for a VooDoo pedal power, and put the OCD on the 18v plug.

Wow, huge difference. Night and day! Now I have no interest in getting rid of it.

I actually have both the OCD V2 and the Fulltone 2 MFST on the board.

The OCD is a simple drive whereas the FD2 adds a compcut and clean boost. I set it up so I have a 1-2-3 step up in drive and sustain.

If you run them together however you do get a lot of noise too.
