Custom Vibrolux Reverb and Mesa Lonestar Special. Have just had my 6118 for couple of weeks and I'm still dialing in the tone but both amps sound great already.

"I think Dadical nailed it. A Gretsch just sounds good with almost any amp."

And the Maz sounds good with pretty much any guitar, since it is the Swiss Army Knife of amps!

Sounds like a marriage made in heaven!

Gretsch 5122 thru Blues Junior (mark 2) - MINT!

Sometimes thru a Marshall DSL401 for total all out distortion!

(prefer the Blues Junior... for now!)

I'm not worthy. I have yet to put my new Gretsch through a tube amp. I just brought my HRDLX home from storage last week and all the guitar has played through is a lowly VOX Da-15 practice amp in my living room.

I did take it to an open jam and played through an Egnater head and cab and that sounded fine, but I didn't have time to experiment and tone it in like I would at home.

I doubt I will get THAT Gretsch sound out of a projet, but it should be close.

My newish 6120-1958LTV sounds great through all my Fender amps; tweed, brown or black. I have yet to try it through my Marshall half stack yet though. I should do that.

I haven't test driven one but I've read on a Gretsch forum that the lower gain Gretsch pups (Blacktop Filtertrons) sound great through an Excelsior.

The filtertrons sound pretty darn good through a HRDLX on the clean channel. It's still not that classic Gretsch sound but very close.
