After about 25 years, the battery in my DX7II-FD finally needs changed. Does anyone have any experience with this? I guess the battery is soldered in place. I've Googled for info about this, but looking for first-hand knowledge from someone. Thanks.

I just did a few months ago, and it wasn't a problem, even with a few "personal" problems.

I had ordered the correct battery, which has two solder connections. Unfortunately, by time the owner brought me the keyboard, I had misplaced the battery.

I bought a socket for a 2032 locally, shoehorned it in, and put in a 2032. Now the owner can replace it without needing to solder, although the keyboard still has to be disassembled to get to it.

It's a matter of taking the thing apart and removing enough circuit boards to get to the solder joints for the new battery.
