Most excellent axe! I got mine a week ago, and can't put it down. Even named it (Spanky), which is only the second time I've done that to one of my flock. Five stars indeed!

Good review,very informative . .As I posted in another thread i just got mine and put Tonerider Hot Classics in straight away .They give that extra clout but still twang .I also changed the saddles to brass compensated and put an 4 way switch as i had it all laying around anyway .I thinks its a really good guitar and although the pickups are better now ,the stock are also useful.The stock ones are not Toneriders spec but are certainly have a similar DNA . The bridge plate is thicker and heavier than a stock Fender .I say full marks .I now rather fancy that new BSB CV .Will it ever end .

Beautiful guitars, I just wish the necks were a bit bigger. That's all that's held me back from buying one.

+1 for the bigger necks on squiers. I thought my MIM tele neck was as good as i could need until i tried a couple of wider, fatter necks, a V profile neck and finally my classic 60's tele. I think (may be wrong) but fender seem to shy away from fatter necks for their squier guitars in order to appeal to young players / beginners.

Now theres no denying a big old U profile early 50's tele neck could be daunting to the beginner, but a touch more depth and width would be easily manageable for most and possibly even help them along.

fender produces a vast range of neck profile and radius combinations, and i'd say the classic 60's profile, maybe with a more modern radius (but not too flat) would be an absolute delight for young (or old) beginners - just nicely fills the palm but not quite 'fat', sort of a C going on D. the blackout tele and the kenny wayne sheperd strat are nice examples of 'just fat enough but flat enough' in terms of a good all-rounder.

And interestingly, the bottom of the range Epi SG's (bolt on neck etc) have quite a big fat neck profile yet these are clearly aimed at the budget/beginner market.

Its not the 80's anymore; skinny does not equate to faster or easier.

I see what you guys mean, but truth to tell I love the neck For some reason even though I like a big neck the profile on my Squiers fit real nice!
