I'm researching the Rivera-era and have a website trawling for serial numbers etc etc. Yesterday I was contacted by two different people, both in the UK, both with Showmans, both describing them as "London Reverb but it says Showman on the front".

The amps have different serial numbers, one is a 1x12 and the other a 1x15... otherwise I'd have thought it was the same guy with 2 different nicknames.

Strange, no?

(a 1x15 200W amp... now _there's_ a beast...)

I came across a SS Showman 2x12 a coupla years ago. It was a very good sounding amp, traded it away after few months, actually gigged it a coupla times. Had a problem cutting out at first but opened it up and rearranged the ribbon wires inside which fixed it. About the same as a London Reverb except double the power and speakers.

yes, actually identical to London Reverb in features, but with twice the grunt...

.. and I would be put off by the ribbon cables...
