I just put a Vibramate with Bigsby B% on my tele. Installation was a breeze. Works like a charm, and no harm to my finish!

I just saw an old clip of the Beachboys from 1966 playing on the Ed Sullivan Show. Carl Wilson was playing a beautiful white Tele with a Bigsby and it looked just fine.

Here's mine. I assembled it about two weeks ago. I'm still getting used to the Bigsby as it is my first, but so far I like it a lot.

Update on the EZ mount as promised (about 14 months late).

To be honest, it started to irritate me a little The angles meant that it was lifted off the face of the body at the strap button end, and only made contact with it near the bridge. It moved around laterally quite a bit, which would effect the tuning. I'd had to use the thickest of the washes on the strap button, which meant it was also sticking out the read end of the guitar as well. I could have re-drilled the strap button so it sat flush, but this kind of defeats the object of a no-mod-needed device.

Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and permanently install the Bigsby. I have to say for anyone thinking about it, this was a very easy job. Four drilled holes and no tears. You do have to be very careful indeed with the alignment. I checked everything at least 3 times before drilling.

I have to say though that the Space Bridge is a great piece of engineering, and a brilliant idea on their part. I'd highly recommend it, even if the EZ mount itself didn't work our for me.

Vibramate now has a mount to install a Bigsby on Telecaster. It is a great, idiot proof design.

btw, I have a Bigsby on a 72 RI Thinline (MIJ). This was done before Vibramate came out with their product, though I don't think it works with the humbuckers- only the ashtray.

The Vibramate is an outstanding product. Extremely well made and designed to do what it does in a simple, 100% reversible, non destructive way. I've put them on three guitars so far- two Reverends and one Les Paul. One really great aspect is that it does raise the level of the Bigsby up a bit, so the strings are much more likely to cleanly clear the bridge on their way down to the bar on the Bigsby. Because it matches the shape of the Bigsby for the most part, it is almost completely invisible. It is a snap to install- just a couple minutes. Perfectly machined.

I've always liked the looks of a Bigsby Tele.

Then when I recently saw the F bigsby tele kit, I thought (should I ?)

I spent 14.00 on the Ashtray. So, If I spent another 169.00 for the kit, it would render the Ashtray useless.
So, then I realized, that's what the Strat's for.

Have you ever played a Tele w/Bigsby? Maybe a trip to GC would give you something to consider.

Yes I have Dadical, But it was many many moons ago. It was a '68 or '69 Tele. I remember not caring much for the wide flat arm. And the owner did complain about it not staying in tune very well. I still think they look great. Maybe I should go play a new one.
Ya know, after I posted above I started thinking.
I still have a '91 MIM body. My brother gave me a unfinished maple Stew-Mac neck. I have the MIM control plate w/pots and switch.
Anyway, calculating parts for a possible Bigsby Esquire.

I also fashioned my own slotted vintage-style aluminum bridge to allow for the strings to pass through on my custom Bigsbycaster. Brass saddles are also slotted. Really works great.

The government will soon pass a law that it will be illegal to have a Tele without a Bigsby, so fit one now!!!

I contemplated putting a Bigsby on my Nash Super relic Tele. I've had nothing but good experiences with Bigsbys on other guitars.

But I decided to give the STETSBAR a try and I'm very glad I did! It's BY FAR the best operating tremolo system I've ever used. I liked it so much I had one mounted on my Gibson ES-335 too!

And, there are NO NEW HOLES to be drilled. If you want to go back to original, it just takes a few minutes.

One word of caution though... BE SURE you have a qualified tech mount the system for you. It's not as easy as it looks.

Just a FABULOUS system!

Kadabra,
I have a 73 Deluxe and while investigating it's value I did hear that a VERY few came from the factory with Bigsby's. Had not heard that about the Custom's, but why not. I was also told that if you were lucky enough to have a Deluxe/factory Bixby it upped the collector value several times over.
