Hi,
Was wandering if anyone had any leads to get one of the Elvis mics my band uses fixed up. We have one that cuts out often or feedbacks.

I've read that you can drop a 58 or 58betaA into one of these (guts wise) and I just was hoping someone might do that or advise against trying that.

Let me know - I'm Chicago based so I'd love to find that kind of close to me. Repair or mods.

I've got a friend in the area who does that mod. He did it to mine, but personally I didn't care for it, as you have to almost sing into the top of the mic (rather than right into the front like normal), due to the way the capsule is seated. Plus my stage mic is way better than a Beta 58, so I never use the modded Elvis mic.

However, did you know that Shure just came out with a new model of the 55sh which has an improved capsule?

That's the route I'd go.
