The power of the 60 watt SS was no problem it was the weight for me. I like the DRRI for clean so if the 22 watt hasDRRI cleans and a usable gain channel it will be a great amp.

Nice !!!!

Although difficult to compare an amp tone to a video, my impression is that the Burn channel from this new 22w sounds almost identical to my 60w version from 2006 - see what you guys have been missing for the last 4 years ;-)

The clean however has lot more bass in this new 22w version. I can get that clean tone too, but my treble has to be set to 1 and bass to 6, noticed how the treble is set to 6.5 on the"Sexy Clean-toned Stratocaster" demo.

Another amp classic was born !

For other vids, simply search Fender® Super-Sonic™ 22 on youtube.

being a echo freak, I really like this one...

Hey hey QJ. What a nice gift you give us tonight. Nice Clips. Special thanks to Shane also. You're a great guitar player Sir!

Ok. This amp really rocks. Oh man. The DRRI clean is soooo sweet. Delicious. Very very delicious!

I'm sure this baby will be a perfect match for humbuckers too.

Can't wait to hear an LP through it. Have we ever seen Shane playin an LP? No I don't think that'll happen on video but I'm sure Shane is rockin his house with an LP or an SG through his new 22 watts when everybodies's out!

Cheers!

Thanks for the links to the videos! Sounds good to me.

"Figaro, there is no volume on the effects loop .."

I thought there was, but I must have misread something in the other thread.

The YT title said it was the 22, but it was the 60. It's been pulled from YT, maybe an update is coming!

Well I listened to all the clips very very carefuly, many many times.

This amp really is a winner, but it's not for me.

The clean tones are very good, but not as good as a super-reverb let's say, but hey , I know, it's not a super-reverb LOL!!

I must admit that the distortion is not really what I'm searching for. Too rude and farty to my taste. Even a bit too harsh.

I have a Peavey valveking 112 and the distortion channel seems very similar. The clean maybe not as Fenderish but very good in the end, I must admit.

In fact, I like better (well honestly, much better) what I hear when I listen to the original Super-Sonic 60 watts version demos.

So, um, I think I'm gonna pass my turn on this one. But we never know, everything could change once I'll try this ss 22 it in the store for myself.

The problem here is me! I'm trying to find something that will give me the tone of a vintage super-reverb crancked all the way up, but coming from a 22 watts pcb amp! Shame on me. I dream in color!

I'm intrigued by the vids, but not entirely sold. I'll have to wait and try one in person.

I loved the tones of the Super 60w, but didn't bite mainly because I found it too powerful for home use. In terms of tone, I have no use for the over-the-top distortion - I like classic Fender clean, and various levels of dirt. I can get what I'm looking for with my DRRI on 7 and an OCD - what I would really like is to get that at manageably vol and without the pedal. We'll see if that's possible with the Super 22...

THE CLIPS DO THE AMP NO JUSTICE ON THE GAIN CHANNEL..IN FACT ONE OF THE HEAVY DISTORTED CLIPS SOUNDS AWFUL...BEST CHECK IT OUT IN PERSON...

Ok Bob! Since you name it, I'll say it myself too:
Awful, yep really awful, that's the word. But' the guy is playing almost a classical guitar part on that take! Strange idea. Minor thirds, minor sixths etc played harmonically (two notes at the same time) will never sound good with that kind of distortion anyway.

But again, the distortion in general, to my taste is ok but not very sweet. A la Blues Jr or Hot Rol Deluxe I would say. Worst, almost solid state sounding sometimes. The dirty gretch otho sounds very good to my ears.

I really hope to hear something better at the store. Could be the case though!

In any cases, this amp is sexy!

you may be surprized at the store...i played last night with the amp wide open and you really dont need a od pedal for the clean channel ..cranked it breaks up rather nicely...

The gain channel sounds best to me so far with the gain one down to fender 3 and the 2nd gain on 5 or 6...then crank the volume ...if this amp didnt have the gain channel id probably still buy it...it beats my pro jr and blues jr and for that i like it...GAIN CHANNELS ARE ALWAYS HARD TO FINE TUNE FOR ME with different guitars..tonight ill be trying it out with humbuckrs.
