If I hadn't invested in a LP last month it would be on my "to get" list.
It even has the case.

Nice guitar, but woefully misinformed.
These are fully hollow, of course, not semi-hollow (didn't he ever look inside?).
And I know of no 6120 pickups that sound anything like the DeArmond 2ks on the T-400.

I pulled my T-400 out the other day -- it is a wonderful guitar.
At one time I had two -- sold the orange one -- kept the cherry.
Shouldn't have sold it -- but whatyagonnado!?

Guys, I just bought one of these for $650 and now there's one on eBay for $500. I'm kickin' myself...but I figured one of you would want to act on it. Hope it goes to a forum member, no affiliation with seller.

Huh, was that a BIN? If that's the case, the owner gave it away. When I looked it had nine days to go, and it was at $460 something.

I didn't get a bad deal at $650, but seeing this one for $500 the DAY after I sent my payment just broke my heart. Oh well. Mine should be arriving next week.
The old Dearmond website pictures the T-400 with a natural finish and black 2000's, but I have never seen a T-400 with either. I've only seen one T-400 that was red...all the rest have been orange, all with white p'ups.

The first ones had white bobbins and a Guild stairstep type pickguard. The later ones had black bobbins and regular pickguard.
Here's an orange one with black pups. One of the very last batch that came into the country, I was told.

My Tennessee Orange T-400 had the black 2000's and looked just like the axe in jazzBo's link above.

I know it is heresy to some, but I've never liked the bridge pup in the M77T. One of these days I'm going to put in a TVJones Powertron.

Have any of you gents replaced the 2Ks with 200s or Gretsch Dynasonics? If so, how did you like the change and how would you describe the sound?
cheers

See my thread below on changing the 2K out of my M77t for a TV Jones Magnatron. The Magnatron is strong and clear- it does not want to break up. A very full, distinct sound, with a hint of growl. Clearer than a P90, but with more heft than a tele bridge pu. I'm not in a hurry, but I may try one in my T400
