I found a great set of 10 freeware apps that simulate some really cool vintage analog synths. The zip file extracts the 10 apps into one folder with all the dll files for the apps and related files left loose inside that folder.

The apps all work just as is but should these dll's and other files all go to specific locations on my PC? Is it OK to leave everything in that folder and just store it anywhere on my hard drive?

I've included a link to where I found the files. In case anyone else is interested in trying them.

I record with Reaper. After unzipping a plug-in, I copy & paste the '.dll' for the plug-in in Reaper's 'plug-in' folder.

Reaper automatically scans for new plug-ins at each start up, and lists the new plug-ins.

These kinds of questions are best posted in the home recording section, IMO.
