"I have a set, but they don't seem to fit in any of my Strats, they are too big and I'd need to rout the cavity. I wasn't expecting to do that kind of work. Really bummed......."

It really isn't that difficult to rout out the body to get the pickups to fit. I had to do it when I installed a set in my 50s classic series strat. I used a dremel with a routing bit. It took about 15 minutes to do that and was worth the effort.

Perhaps it means that each pickup has 2 ceramic-8 bar magnets?

What do you mean by "active follower"?

Also, since this seems to be drifting off of the main topic (HN pups), would it be worthwhile to start another thread?

On the Hn's they recommend a .022k Capacitor on the tone pot, my old strat has a .05Z???
Will that make a difference in the sound?

"Go back a bunch of pages."

There are a BUNCH of posts on here (130+ and counting). If you want us to help please provide a date, a number.......something. Some people don't have the time to go searching for it. Also, are you sure that BT was not talking about the VINTAGE noiseless? From what I have read, most people using the HOT noiseless have no complaints without using anything else or swapping pots.

Also, it may help to start another thread. People interested in preamps may not be interested in noiseless pickups.

Yes, I have some ideas for a schematic that is easy to build.

So Bill Turner had a lot to do with these pups too. I have Tele Texas Specials in my MIM Tele, and do find these to be very special pickups. I really like the sound, and I don't play country western.

Ok. Based on what I've been reading on here, I ordered a set of the Hot Noiseless pickups. Arrived yesterday, installed today.

So far, I love them.

Taking them to church tonight, we will see how they perform live.

I put them in a Deluxe Super Strat. I had Texas Specials in it, and while I liked them, I always had a hard time dialing them in. Especially compared to my 57/62's and the pickups in my CS 60.

I'll report back tomorrow...

After a few days of having the Hot Noiseless pickups, I love them!! Better than I imagined. Beautiful tone, relatively easy to dial in. And definitely noiseless!

How would they compare to the SNC's in my American Deluxe?

I got a PRRI. The FHN and the PRRI is a perfect match, in all positions. And I often end-up using the middle position.

I installed a set in one of my Strats a few weeks back (one that had a rout deep enough to accomodate them). I love the neck and the middle, the bridge not so much. I'm thinking of swapping the bridge with a Duncan STK-S9 Hot Stack Plus for a little more oomph.

I have the Hots in my neck and middle and a SD Cool Rails in the bridge, nice setup and sounds awesome except I get quite a bit of buzzing (goes away when I touch any metal on the guitar). My wiring seems fine, wondering if I need to shield the body/pickguard or if I wired the Hots wrong? Black to ground on those, right?

I bought a Fender AM Deluxe year 2000, but, they are with Vintage Noiseless PUPs and 500k pots, but the pots are not the stock one, i want to know what pot to use to get the best sound from them

Hi lucas and welcome.

Like most things guitar, "best" is a relative term and personal preference.
However, FWIW when you buy a set of Fender Custom Shop Noiseless pickups they are supplied with 2 x 1 meg pots for the tone and a 500k pot for the volume.
These are their "recommended" values.

I have two strats with Vintage Noiseless and I kept my standard 250k pots and they sound great to me.
The reason behind the higher value pots (1M & 500k) is "brightness" (more high end).
Personally I wouldn't want my VN's any brighter than they are.
I know of other members here that have used 250k pots and they have been satisfied as well.

Probably not much help to you, but thought I'd share my experience. Hopefully other will to.
And welcome again!

Hey guys! After months, I finally found this thread.
I'm very interested in the Hot Noiseless. I've got a 99' MIM Fender Strat. Do you guys think that still worth it? I'm really excited about the sound after I saw that youtube video showing the Texas Special and the Hot Noiseless together. I've got a friend that has the Vintage Noiseless, and he loves it, but in my mind, I should choose the Hot ones so I can get close to the SRV/Hendrix kinda sound. Any advices?

BluesBrazil - I know this is about 10 months late...but, the Hot Noiseless aren’t really “hotter”. They do sound great, and in my experience can cover a lot of territory.

As for worth it, that’s up to you. If you like noiseless and like tha Strat you want to put then in, then I’d say yes it’s worth it. Although, I actually like the stock MIM std pickups as well, for a modern sound
