I recently jumped on a used "wildwood" 10 (it hasn't arrived yet), and was wondering if anyone knew the differences between the earlier batches (late 05-06) and the newer ones. Pretty much all i know about it is its a 60's.
I'm just looking to collect all the information I can on these guitars. Do the older ones have the revered JC designed p-ups? Does anyone know what "CZ" at the start of the serial number means? Any other information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Here's the blurb from the WW website when I bought mine:

Custom Shop Dealer Select Wildwood "10" '50s Stratocaster Relic #CZ502xxx, Faded Sonic Blue Nitrocellulose Finish, 7.2 Lbs, 2 Piece Ash Body, Quartersawn Maple Neck with Soft '57 Style "V" Profile (.880" Thickness at 1st Fret, .980" Thickness at 12th Fret), Maple Fingerboard with Exclusive Wildwood Custom 10" Radius (Black Micarta Dots), 25.5" Scale Length, 1.650" Width Bone Nut, 6105 Fret Wire, Chrome Hardware, Vintage Tremolo, 3 Custom Shop John Cruz Master Design Strat Singlecoil Pickups with Modern Wiring (Reverse Wound, Reverse Polarity on Middle Pickup), 5 Way Switch, Volume, Tone, Tone, Aged White Parchment Vinyl Pickguard (.060" Thickness), Aged Vintage Style Tuners with Nickel Buttons, Round String Tree, Limited Edition Neck Plate (Includes 2 Neck Plates), 2 Certificates of Authenticity, Includes Black Custom Shop Limited Edition Hardshell Case with Embroidered Custom Shop Logo.

If yours is a '60s, that must mean it has a RW neck. The current crop of 10s have Braz RW; I don't think this first batch did.

Also, I think the CZ serial number specified that it was 'Custom Shop' and what year it was made.

If you dig deep enough on the Fender site, you should be able to find the 'Spec sheet'. The Custom Shop lists 'Dealer LTD' instruments. Just find the one for Wildwood. It's unclear if the ones listed currently are the 2005 batch or the newer ones. This should get you started, though.
