Just bought a set to split up and use as replacements for various late 70's - early 80's guitars I have. Have a few guitars with bent shafts on hi/lo E...the reisssues appear to be the same by all outward appearances, however, the shaft length is about 3/32" of an inch shorter! On a 79 Lead that I have, the replacement tuner string slot is barely out of the bushing. On the originals, the entire concave part of the tuner is exposed above the bushing.
On the replacement, the tuner looks like its not fully seated. Oh well...I guess I'll have to spend $75-$100 on ebay for a vintage set. I'll be putting these reissues on ebay soon. FYI

other than that, they're identical to the originals. In fact, the chroming and the smoothness of the metal used on the "F" cover is better!

I know the headstock thickness varied with Fender. On a thinner headstock, they'd be perfect.

I had a set of those I was going to put on a vintage mustang that had really beat worn out tuners. They base was too big to go through the headstock holes without modification, so I sold them.
