I sell a lot of Abby Masterwounds. Contact me and I'll wind as many of them as you want, and sign them "Abby" just for you.

If you want really rare and expensive ones, I'll charge you double just for the asking. I aim to please.

I have a lot of competition on ebay.

Here's a new eBay listing for a set of un-numbered Masterwounds. Un-numbered because the cert has been lost. There is something else that has been lost as well... Anyone care to take a guess?

eBay Link...

hmmm this is perplexing... I've done research, and its really hard to tell...

sometimes its signed Abby, sometimes its AY, sometimes there is a custom shop log on the pups and sometimes there isn't..

You're looking too hard. The Masterwounds came with special "3D" Custom Shop stickers on them...

I've seen good mint condition sets with certs go for $1000 on a few occasions.

She was actually let go by Fender in the late '70s, I believe. But they hired her back on when the Custom Shop created the need for her.

Yes, she wound Tele pickups. I have a set.

It is silly that they let a national treasure go like her. It would be like deposing Seymour Duncan!

This was just listed and it isn't my listing. Looks at these pickups and read the description and see if you can figure out what's wrong with this.

I found it right away, but look hard and you shouldn't miss it...

also... I've noticed that in some sets the back of the pickups is black, other times it grey...
sometimes she sign's it with a blue pen, other times with gold...

Yep, the lack of a number (out of 300 sets) is the first clue. But the seller explains why that number is missing in his item description. Read what he says about it and see if you can figure out why that's just not possible in this case...

The Masterwounds should always be gray. And I believe all the Masterwound sets were signed by Abby with a blue or black ball point. With other black bottom sets she would more tylically use the gold to sign them. Sometimes silver...
