Over the past four years, Iíve started having Custom Amp Covers build all the covers for all my amps. Their fits are always spot on, high quality materials and their stitching is nothing but high quality.

Last year, I had them make a purple amp cover with white piping for my Budda SD II combo. They did not have the ampís specs but I worked with them on the phone and within a few minutes time, they were on the same page as I was and within a week, I had a beautiful cover for my amp.

I was just thinking about them being I just ordered a new amp cover and figured Iíd mention them.

I refer to these types of covers as dust covers, they provide minimum protection against damage due to whacking an amp against a wall or something like that but they do provide excellent protection against dust. I know some folks like to spend more $ and buy covers with padding but my thinking on this is, if it isnít a hard ATA flight case then itís a dust cover.

If youíre in the market for a cover, check them out.

I will post a picture of my new amp cover when I get it.

P.S. I am in no way affiliated nor do I have any interests within Custom Amp Covers. Iím simply reviewing quality craftsmanship.

I had a Brown one made for my Blonde TRRI 40th Anniversary.
I can attest: fit and quality are A-1.

I should have my new cover in a few days! Once I get it, I'll post a pic. It's going on a Traynor YCV50 Blue Custom. I had them make it in Navy Blue with white piping.

I can concur.

Fender doesn't always include a dustcover with the amp. Actually I find that somewhat surprising. Nevertheless I wanted something a little more substantial than those flimsy things Fender puts out as stock anyway.

So I ordered one for my Bjr in blonde with red piping. It came right as promised. The fit was correct. I liked it so much I ordered 3 more for my other amps.

Yes, I had one made for a Marshall JTM30, and another for a Marshall Vintage Modern combo as well. Very high quality product. Like an army tent designed for years of rugged out door use by hamfisted soldiers :-)

I had one for a Classic 30, and now I have one for my Blues Junior. Fender's covers are nothing but dust covers (thin), but these have a nice layer of felt padding on the inside, and thicker vinyl on the outside... I like them.

I'm not an expert in this field but I think that there's no sense to look for custom expensive covers. You aren't taking amp to extreme conditions!

Yeah, you are if you're tossing the amp in the trunk of your car along with a few guitar cases and a spare tire =o)

Seriously, a good cover prevents dings and gashes in the Tolex because most all damage occurs when moving an amp from one place to another.

Too add to Peegoo's statement above, a cover also helps reduce dust getting into the amp as well (and cat hair, my hair, dog hair and other foreign particles too).

Extreme conditions could be constant shuffling of gear between gigs with all the inherent bumps and knocks. A soft cover would not be suitable for this use, hard cases being much preferred.

Forget Tone - go with Note Choice

Amp covers are a "must have" for me. Living in a big crowded city I go to most of my gigs on public transport and the rest of the time it's in the back of a car or truck with tons of other stuff. Protection makes a difference. For most home users, it's not a requirement.

I had my amp cover made by hotcovers.co.uk. I'm very pleased with it, the price was reasonable, and happy to recommend them.

I have 2 covers from these guys ("Custom Amp Covers"). I got a 2-tone brown/blonde cover for my Mission 5E3 and black with gold piping for my Gibson GA15-RV.

I've had padded Tuki covers on amps in the past but these are cheaper, I think they look much better, and for me they offer equal protection. But I'm not tossing my amps into a van with piles of other gear. I mainly carry stuff in my own car, so while I am carting things around, I can pack so things aren't flying into each other.

I have one on each of my Champs and one on my Classic 20.

They are top quality, and not that expensive.

I just had them make a 2 tone blonde/brown cover for my Custom 5E3 clone that has a slightly oversize cab. Quick service and excellent quality and fit. Highly recommend them!

Thanks for the info. I'm building a 1X15 speaker cab for my Bandmaster, and I'm going to order a cover to match the head cover (black with gold piping). They're sending me a sample of the piping, not sure I want 'gold tinsel'. I just want gold.

I ALWAYS buy these for my amps, new or used (amps, not covers). If you gig frequently (I do), they will save you MANY times over their cost in digs, rips, breakage, etc.

However, I am cheap, and always just get the plain black ones, which are amazing.
