I recently got the Pro Jet with the Bigsby. The original nut was cut too low so I had a bone one put on and had the frets leveled. I'm using 10's, the stock mini hb's in mine sound great, I'm leaving them alone.

Were the stock strings 10's? I have a couple strings that are out of intonation and wonder if the change to 9s did it..Im assuming these are 9's now...( got her used) The neck is flat and I believe I need to add a degree or two before I intonate it.

I have heard that these newer Electromatic's are less weight than the older ones. They are said to be chambered to reduce the weight.
I have no access to any here and I was wondering how the Single Cut Pro Jet's and the Double Cut Pro Jet's compare to each other? Is the Double Cut stable?
Also in the pic's the Single Cut looks to be more of a Bronze like Gold. While the Double Cut looks to be more a Lime Green Gold. Is this true or is it just my eyes or the pic's on the websites?
As you may have guessed I'm partial to the Gold ones.

I've got the newer G5235 (black, singlecut, w/bigsby) and it is chambered. The older ones were not and are alot heavier.

Don't know about the gold color.

Man , I gotta add that this guitar is an 08 chinese made pro-jet goldtop. MF is currently selling these for 400.00 ...This baby is one of the nicest crafted guitars that I have ever laid my hands on, and to top it off it plays and sounds Gretsch...I have previously owned a 57 reissue duo-jet, this guitar is everything that one was, minus the duosonics...the mini humbuckers work well with this...I tell you is If I was going to spend 400 on a mex strat or this...I would not have the strat...

I have a three week old in my posession, G5435T gold top, but they have changed since 08. Mine has the Filtertron pickups in it and they are pretty stellar.

Build is what is discribed in the threat, top notch. The B-50 Bigsby is a sticking point how ever, about 4 inches too close to the bridge, making the unit stiff. If you over whammy it, it will go out of tune as the lower strings will notch out of place on the saddle, but shimmer etc. is just fine.

I find the tone to be very very likeable. Not as dark as my PRS, not as light as a Fender, very creamy so to speak. I'm not sure it's Vintage Gretsch sounding however, I don't hear much George or Chet in the guitar, but it's highly changeable tonewise with just a small turn on the knobs.
