I've got them all:

- Dlx Fender Gig Bag
- 1978 Blown plastic case
- G&G Case
- 2007 Fender molded case
- And a 2006 JM Incase Fender case (the black one)

Of all my cases, I use (and like) the Incase the most. It weighs about the same as the G&G case, but it is much more versatile and maneuverable than any of the other cases.

It has enough room to hold my 3 ring binder, chords and tuner with room to spare. The handles are logically laid out, and I keep one strap on to sling over my shoulder.

The only negative is that the case doesn't lay flat due to the back pack straps. But that's it. It's a small price to pay for such a great case. It was definitely worth the price ($150 w shipping).

+1 for the Incase!

There is a second set of shoulder straps inside teh back flap. Removing the removable outside straps makes it somewhat more flat, as the prior owner of my JM did.

Still not suitable for stacking but a little more compact.

Thanks for all the replies on this.

Time to start saving and looking... they are certanly pricey but from what I can gather by looking at InCase's site, it really is a great product and well suited to *my needs* of going to my lesson (storage for books/CDs etc) and travelling out of town for weekend jaunts (takes up less room in the car).

I just wish someone imported them into the UK...I had one with a JM strat, but when I sold the Strat I let the case go too as it helped the value of the guitar...

Want another one now...

It doesn't seem they're available separately in Canada either. InCase themselves won't ship here.

I think it's just a matter of being patient and scouring around for someone w/ a JM Strat and too many cases already who's willing to part with one!

I feel your pain, aj... believe me!

Now I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to start Gassing for a John Mayer Strat anyway! At least I'd get the gig bag as a bonus. Haven't played one yet but lord help me if they come out with some new *bluish* colours... Like LPB or Ocean Turq. Or Ice Blue Metallic! I may not be able to resist.

mfitz804 just sold another one in the FDP classifieds.

Did you ever buy an InCase bag? They sure do look nice.

Their site shows the Slim Bags are "currently unavailable" but they do have Dub Bags (holds two guitars) but they are $300.

: )

Mike,
No, I never did get one and I haven't looked at the FDP Classifieds for some time. I would have jumped on one had I seen it though!

"mfitz - what do you do - breed them?"

John Mayer Strats are like a form of currency to mfitz. They come and go like small change. A few InCase bags are bound to shake loose around the house. He collects them every few weeks and sells them to us poor saps.

I was trying to think of a snappy comeback for olin, but I am afraid he is 100% correct.

"Did you buy one from him olin?"

No. He'll have more for sale in a few weeks. I'm biding my time until then.

I think they're REALLY cool. And functional.

Tons of storage space for picks, strings, finger slide, string winder, wire cutters, cords, etc....

Protects the guitar itself the same or better than a hard shell.

Plus it looks cool with the big Fender "F" on it.

After owning mine for over a year, it is still my #1 case. Can't say that about my guitar, my #1 has switched a couple of times in the last year.

You'll have to pry this out of my cold dead hands in order for me to part with it.
