well......the scale length is 25" instead of 24.5, the bridge sits on studs rather than on a wooden base, the mud switch has different value caps that are sweeter and more usable, the master volume has a cap/resistor circuit so you don't lose high end when you turn down, but the individual volumes do not, so you can still get the vintage effect of rolling off some highs when you turn those down, there's no zero fret, it's got a bigsby b7 with the roller bar for increased angle and downward pressure on the bridge to enhance sustain, the toggle switches are reversed in function so that the pickup selector is closer to your hand, the neck is a slim, soft v shape like the setzer and it's locking sperzel tuners. other than that it's exactly like the regular jet! hahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fast-Frets exclent guitar I'v had mine since
03. Mine is pre Fender and it was made in 01
and its the best guitar that I ever had!
When I bring it to GC all the guitar sales
people want to play it. This guitar can do it
all and I'll tell you (Keep It). If you look
on the Gretsch page I have a picture of
myself and my EE. I saw your picture and I
like the Red color mine is Black. I play thru
a reissue 59 Fender Bassman LTD reissue and I
also have a backup guitar that I just bought
its a G&L Asat Classic. You have a great guitar
it should last you a life time. If you would
like to send me an email.

Elliot, I have a question how is the neck
on the EE different from the other Gretsch
models? Did you keep the pickups stock or
did you have TV's put in because next year
I'm thinking of haveing TV's put in mine.

DHP I don't think there's a Chinese version
but there was a Korean version a couple of
years ago. Check ebay and also check gbase.com
there two good starting points. Good luck in
your search.

I have an EE Electromatic, and it's manufactured in China, as are all electromatics. I love this guitar, although I changed the original PU's and put TV Jones Powertrons in it. Body, neck and Bigsby are perfect. Electronics need some upgrading. But in the end you get a wonderful guitar for half the price of a pro one.
It's a heavy instrument that needs a case.

Well, there is some confusion. The first ones were made in Korea. After some time they changed to China (probably because the 'work' is cheaper). I got the impression that the quality only got better. If you read the reviews at Harmony Central I can only agree: the EE is the top of the electromatic line. From time to time you see them on e-bay, and they go between 500 and 700$. I think it doesn't make a lot of difference. I have three China made guitars (the EE, Ibanez Artcore 85 VLS, Höfner Verythin CT) and they are all perfect. I had some forum-discussions about USA-made and China-made guitars, and I think there isn't a big difference in quality, sertainly not enough to explain the price-difference between f.e.new Gibsons. Remember what they said about Japan. Now all new Gretsches are made in Japan.
(I still love my Strat68 en Godin LGX, all US-made)

Just wondering how many on this board
play the Elloit Easton Signature? Also
how many are pre Fender. Mine was made
in 2001 and bought in 2003 so I'm pre
Fender.

I have a lefty green caddy green 6128EE.
Pre fender made, but left Qc factory during fender owned.
I love it, will never sell it.
I upgraded to tv jones classic plus in bridge and classic in neck, changed to lefty cts pots and
Note - to put in tv jones pickups, you need to slightly rout out the cavities slightly. This is due to the low bridge profile /angle of EE model.
Tv jones mentioned to me he has done that to all of elliot's gretsches with tv jones pickups.

I have a lefty EE signature that is a helluva nice guitar. It is pre-Fender.
I call it the "ultimate signature guitar" because I purchased it used - from Elliot.

I owned one a few years back. I was in an original rock band and the guitar really rocked. When I went more twangy, I switched to Teles and Gretsch guitars with Dynas. I really like the EE, and wish I would have kept it. I currently am playing a Spectra Sonic with a Dyna in the bridge.
