It's not that often you see/hear drummers sing and was wondering if it was more than I thought.

The three that come to mind most quickly for me are Phil Collins, Don Henley and Karen Carpenter.

Yeah, those two guy's came to my mind but I'd forgot about Karen Carpenter (I thought she was great).
What was the name of the guy that drummed/sang in the group Rare Earth. I was fortunate to see them in concert (72?) and he was really good. They did a tune "(I know ) I'm losing you" and did a vocal effect sounding like tape delay with mutiple echos. I was close enough to see him faking the echos delays. Maybe the tape delay was broke that day ...........

Can't remember his name right this second, but, the drummer for Grand Funk Railroad was a powerhouse singer. Here's obscurity for you, Joe English. He played with McCartney and Wings then had a pretty solid Christian music ministry in the 80's.

"Grand Funk Railroad]"Did they transform to Backman Turner Overdrive."
If I remember correctly, it was the Guess Who, that morphed into Baucman-Turner Overweight.
Mickey Dolenz [aka-Circus Boy] of the Monkees was another singing drummer.

The Romantics -- remember that song "What I Like About You"? Drummer is the singer in that band.
How about Phil Collins too?

Don Brewer was the drummer for Grand Funk, and he is a great singer.
I always liked to hear Buddy Miles sing as well.

dannysgrandpa,
I met Joe English when was doing his Christian thing in the 80s. We was playing at my old high school and I happened to be in town on vacation to see my folks. He told me he grew up as a jazz drummer and hated the Beatles. Somehow McCartney heard him play in Atlanta and he got a call from Paul's people offering him the gig with Wings. He said he almost turned it down and his roommate actually convinced him to take the gig by threatening to never speak to him again if he didn't. He was a really nice guy and gave me signed copy of his Album.

I always liked Buddy Miles, he always had a bit of a jump in his voice from the movement of drumming at the same time.

And speaking of Buddy Miles and Junior Brown.
When Jr. played in Atlanta a few years ago, Buddy was his snare drummer.
I had a gig that night and didn't get to go see him.
