I just bought one of these Eastman AC720 guitars from a little shop in Ohio that sells Collings as well. It sounds every bit a good as a Collings D2H and was a heck of a lot less money.....Side by side comparison was unreal...Has anyone here played one of these? This Eastman AC720 is one heck of a guitar!

Is this one of the new flat tops? I sure like their archtops.

Yes, it is a flat top. Yes , the one I have is the equivalent in every way of the Collings D2H. I have heard from other owners great stuff. Guitars vary, but that is true in all brands. The sound, workmanship, materials, playability is all here. It is a keeper....

Revisited this forum to post the fact that the finish is coming off the headstock where each peg comes through. The bridge is lifting as well. I do have an ra number and a promise to fix or replace. I will keep the results posted here. Happy Picking !!

I agree that the sound of eastman guitars rival anything out there. I heard that the early one's had some problems like you mentioned though.

Well, customer service has sent me a new guitar through my dealer in Ohio. It is on the way to me, and I hope it is a good one. The only bad thing is I lost an Early serial number...16 !!

That don't mean squat, I don't see Eastman guitars being highly collectible. It took eight weeks for the problem to be assessed, but in all fairness they are in the process of moving everything to California.

I surely hope this guitar sounds as good as the one sent in for repair/ replacement.

Updates will follow....

Update here.

The replacement guitar has a string heighth at fret twelve almost 1/4 of an inch. No room to play that much with the bridge insert. The finish is coming off around the front of the tuning pegs. I am going to chew butt tomorrow, and will keep all here posted.

I am a very unhappy old man.

I sent the other guitar back for these problems plus the bridge coming off.

Happy Picking...

My advice...

Do not buy Eastman guitars...

I appear to be stuck with an unplayable guitar in the 800 buck range.

Updates later.

Have you contacted them directly?
Sounds like the supplier is giving you B stock.
