HELP!

How can I determine whether or not this quitar is actually a limited 'run'? How is this determined through the SN? How can I tell what number guitar it is in the run; i.e., #1 or #500?

Is there special provenance that should accompany the guitar? Letter or brochure designating features, # of units in the run and builder or team, build date?

Is the 60th Anniversary medallion attached to all guitars made in 2006 or to special editions in each instrument catagory?

Guitar in question: appears to be Am Delux Tele with SNC pups, locking tuners, black edge binding and a body contour. butterscotch blonde with black pickguard, maple neck, black dot inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, satin finish, 9.5 radius. Has the anniversary medallion, made in USA, Corona CA neck plate.

Looking for confirmation regarding special edition/limited run status and provenance/brochure/specs.

I haven't been shopped new Fenders in the last couple of weeks to see any new 2006 arrivals, but based on what they did in 1996 it wouldn't surprise me that they put the medallion on the back of the headstock of every guitar made this year.

The USA Limited Editions are American Series in a 2-color burst with a "60th Anniversary" logo on the headstock (with a small diamond inlaid), have a "60th Anniversary" neck plate, and have American Vintage pickups instead of the regular ones. They also have a special case.

However, it sounds like you have found one of the most recent "Factory Special Run" Teles since it has an unusual color and feature combination - kind of a cross between the AV '52 and the Am Dlx.

John, you are spot on! All those features plus the color, finish, contours & binding and tuners.

Beautiful tone, steady resonance & sustain. A bit 'sharper' or more 'clean' sounding than my 8502 if that's possible.

It was too beautiful to resist...put down a deposit and will trade my Classic '72 Custom RI. Hate to part with the '72 but it's truly a world of difference and the Am Dlx is more appealing sound wise.

Thanks again for all your help in identifying this particular model.
