Hi All,

My name's Scott Murphy, and I've been a lurker for a while, and finally got a new password.

I read a while back that one of you folks bought a
gold sparkle Tele body from Tony DeLacugo (TDL Guitars). I had seen the flame jobs on Ebay, so after checking his site, I ordered a blue sparkle body to replace my '81 Tele body. It came yesterday, and it's just beautiful, a work of art. I put it together last night and strung it up today. It looks and plays great. I'll upload a jpeg someplace and give you all the URL soon.

Anyway, thanks for hipping me to his great work.

Scott Murphy

Very nice, Scott. I've got the gold one. I've been considering a light blue one with DeArmond pickups and a Bigsby.

Man, that's a one-of-a-kind. I'm not a big sparkle fan but that works.

Thanks guys. And AZ, thanks for the idea. I'll probably sell my boat anchor '81 Fender body on Ebay in the near future, to try to recoup some of the money, which really was pretty reasonable. The DeArmond/Bigsby sounds like fun!

Tell you what LM, I'll drop some bucks into the kitty this weekend when my Ebay auctions close.

Hey Scott Welcome aboard. That sparkle is very very cool. I almost jumped on one a while back but just a tad short on the $$$. What was the lead time on it or was it a stock item?

Hi, Tone. That body was made and painted to order, and took about a week from the time Tony received my money order until the time it shipped. I don't know if he's always that fast or I just caught him at a good time. BTW, I got the Nashville rout to try some alternative pickup combos in the future. I also had Tony supply and install the string ferrules for an addition $8. Well worth it. Oddly enough, Tony mentioned on the phone that 1/4 of his business is now from lefties! Cool, huh? Here's the link, btw.

scotabilly, that's real nice. However, if I were to go for a sparkle guitar, it would be this one.

scotabilly that's the way to go in my IMHO with the Nashville rout. Was it pre drilled for the wiring? The one I wanted was a very flashy stars and stripes finish. Over the top? Maybe. But I thought it was pretty cool. I wonder if he'll do a Thinline body. I've been gassin for one for a while.

Well, the Nashville rout is just a swimming pool type thing, with a hole drilled to the control cavity. I thought at one point of putting a Filtertron in the neck spot, or two Strat p'ups, then just said do the whole thing...

I suppose he'd paint your thinline body if you got it from Warmoth or USCG, and he mentioned he can do "chambering" on his body (which he patterned from a stock '69 Fender Tele).
